Behind the scenes of our five unforgettable days in Tokyo, Japan, where we shot our most dreamy collection, set to arrive very soon. It feels surreal and like a dream come true - something I could never have imagined when Oak Meadow started as a small passion project. To be shooting in one of the most vibrant, inspiring cities to capture our vision was a moment that still feels like magic.
Our trip was super last minute, we packed our suitcases with Oak Meadow cuteness and headed straight to Japan. There wasn’t much time to plan, so honestly, when we landed at the airport, we had no idea what to do next. Thank god for Google Translate!
A little cucumber snack to get us started and then our family mart obsession began. Best convenience stores in the world.
We spent time exploring Harajuku, where we stayed. Lots of shopping and vintage obsessing. We visited my dear friend Nao’s boutique - one of the sweetest places.
Fell in LOVE with Japanese food. This was our first meal and it did not disappoint.
On the day of our shoot, we jumped into a van at 5am to collect everyone. Our first stop was this beautiful warehouse, where our hair stylist and MUA prepared our darling model. The whole day was such an incredible and unique experience.

We had two days after the shoot to explore, shop and soak in inspiration - just the perfect way to bring beautiful ideas back to our Byron Bay Studio.
We did some more exploring and then met up with my lovely friend Chinatsu and her beautiful friend Tomoko, who helped with translations. They took us to the cutest shopping spots around Ginza and introduced us to our first parfait. Chinatsu is such an incredible artist - she truly inspires me, so this day felt extra special.
Another last minute shop followed by the mad rush to catch our train for the airport, and just like that our Japan trip came to a beautiful close.
Every piece we’ve beautifully crafted for our next story has been made even more special by the magic of this trip. The time spent reflecting, creating, and connecting has infused this collection with a deeper sense of meaning. I’m so excited to share with you what we’ve put our hearts into at Oak Meadow.
