We recently stayed at The Owl & The PussyCat Farm Animal Sanctuary, just outside Byron Bay - and it left a mark so much stronger than I ever imagined.

This isn’t just a pretty place in the hinterland. It’s a working sanctuary, a safe space for rescued farm animals who have known neglect, abandonment, and cruelty. Now they live in peace - on their own terms, with space to roam, proper vet care, and people who genuinely care.

Cherry, the famous baby goat that I have been following since she first arrived to the sanctuary! She was rescued from flood debris as a baby, to see her so happy now and nothing to worry about as she is in a world of love, makes me so happy! Cherry is so funny and so cute, I love her little puffa jacket she wears sometimes!

Moon, the most beautiful Moon, she had the sweetest moo and was so friendly and affectionate and he really enjoys spa days at the sanctuary which is so cute. Moon was rescued from a horrific case of neglect, and the sanctuary changed her entire world from the moment she was rescued.

I also have to take a moment to really talk about how funny sheep are, i have not spent time around sheep before so it was a really special experience! I was working alongside the sheep all morning, it was so special and funny as they tried to nibble the flowers and just being so curious of my presence. Bramble, i loved in particular, was rescued from a case of neglect also and he spends his days with his family safe and loved at the sanctuary.

Who could forget the mini horses, Angel, Holly and Milo! What a hang of fun! They were rescued from a natural disaster and spend their days running and playing around the sanctuary. They love carrots and banana and nibbling fingers heheh

My stay was our of this world and i cant wait to return, the cute moments—the baby goats skipping through the grass, the warm nudge of a sheep’s head against my arm - but more than anything, there was a sense of purpose. That something beautiful and necessary is being protected here. I left feeling inspired, aligned, and reminded that real sustainability is not just about products’s-  about relationships, respect, and long-term care

If you can't visit the Sanctuary you can always donate a bail of hay for the gang! it's appreciated more than you know!
